What we collect, why we need it, who else sees it, and how long we keep it. Short version: we collect what a rental requires and nothing else, and we don't sell any of it.
The short version
We collect your contact details, driver's license, insurance, tow vehicle and payment information because we're handing you a trailer worth thousands of dollars and Texas law requires us to verify certain things. We use a payment processor so we never store your full card number. We do not sell your personal information to anyone, for any purpose. Ask us to delete what we have and we will, except records we're required to keep.
Spangler's Trailer Rentals, a Texas business based in Seguin, Guadalupe County. We rent utility, dump, and equipment trailers. This policy covers this website and our rental operations.
Questions about privacy: [EMAIL] or [PHONE].
We use this to know whether the site works and whether anyone is finding it. We don't build advertising profiles and we don't run third-party ad trackers.
We never see or store your full card number. Card details go directly to our payment processor, Stripe, and we receive back only a token, the card brand, the last four digits, and whether the charge succeeded.
Only these, and only for the reason listed:
WE DO NOT SELL, RENT, OR TRADE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION TO ANYONE, FOR ANY PURPOSE. WE DO NOT SHARE IT WITH ADVERTISERS OR DATA BROKERS. WE DO NOT PUBLISH RENTER INFORMATION ANYWHERE, INCLUDING ON SOCIAL MEDIA OR IN ANY "DO NOT RENT" LIST.
No system is perfectly secure, and we won't pretend otherwise. If a breach affects your information we will notify you as Texas law requires — without unreasonable delay and no later than 60 days after we determine it happened — and we'll tell you what happened and what we're doing about it.
You can ask us to:
Email [EMAIL]. We'll respond within 30 days. We may need to verify who you are before handing over records — which is itself a privacy protection.
About the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act
The TDPSA gives Texas residents formal data rights, but it exempts small businesses as defined by the U.S. Small Business Administration, and we are well within that exemption. So we're describing what we actually do rather than claiming a status we don't have. The rights listed above are ones we're choosing to offer you, and we'll honor them. One TDPSA rule does apply to us regardless of size: we will not sell sensitive personal data without your prior consent — and as stated above, we don't sell any personal data at all.
We use cookies that are necessary for the site to work — keeping you logged in, remembering what's in your booking, and security. We use basic analytics to count visits. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
You can block cookies in your browser. If you block the necessary ones, booking won't work.
This site isn't for children and you must be 25 to rent from us. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, tell us and we'll delete it.
We do not currently place GPS trackers on our trailers. If that changes we will say so here and on the rental agreement before it applies to your rental — we won't track the location of a trailer you're towing without telling you first.
If we change this policy we'll update the version and effective date at the top, and keep the previous versions available. Changes apply going forward, never retroactively to a rental already completed. If a change is significant we'll email anyone with an active booking.
